This fleet totals ~31,000 cars, which represents ~58% of the total Plate F fleet and 25% of all box cars. These cars are equipped with a variety of door sizes and configurations. Most of this fleet are equipped with 16' double plug doors. Wood products, paperboard, strand board, pulp, and plywood are the primary commodities shipped.

This fleet totals ~51,000 railcars. The Plate C fleet is the largest and most diverse among the four box car groups, and is made up of 50' cars, which are both rigid and cushioned. The tonnage capacities of 70 tons or 100 tons. The primary commodity shipped are paper products (e.g., packaging paper and pulp), followed by scrap and printing paper.

The >80k cars in this fleet have a cubic capacity of 4601-5000 cuf which also includes the 4750 cuf grain car. Most of this fleet is 263k Grl. The majority (>90%) of this fleet has trough hatches with the remaining cars having standard/round hatches or a combination of these hatches. Most of these cars have three compartments, and three bottom outlets. The primary commodities moved are wheat, potash, soybeans, and industrial sand.

These cars are split into two size categories, the less than 60' cars (~22% of the fleet) and the greater than 60' cars (~79% of the fleet). These cars get their name for having steel, vertical walls, called bulkheads, at each end of the car. These cars can only be loaded and unloaded from the side of the car.

General Purpose Tank cars are categorized into 5 seperate groupings: GP Small, 20k Gallon GP, 23,500 Gallon GP, 25,500 Gallon GP, and GP Large. The GP tank car fleet is over 500k cars, with the largest sub-category being GP Large Cars. Fifty percent of this fleet have a 263k Grl tonnage capacity, with the difference being 286k Grl. The largest commodities moved by GP Tank Cars are Alcohols and Crude Petroleum. The oldest segment of this fleet are the GP Smalls Tank Cars.

This car type is segmented into three categories based on shell gallonage capacity: Small Pressure, Medium Pressure, and Large Pressure. The majority of Pressure cars are large pressure cars which make up over 75% of this fleet. The primary commodity moved by Pressure cars are Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) representing over 60% of all shipments. After LPGs, chlorine, industrial gases, and anhydroud ammonia are the next largest group of commodites moved by Pressure cars.

Of these groupings, Small and Large Aggregates are the two largest segments. This fleet primarily serves the mining industry and has a wider variety of commodities (e.g., crushed stone and iron ore concentrates) that it ships outside of coal.
